Equitable Tennis NEW YORK

The Johnson Father/Daughter
Debut at the US Open 1986

Shelly and Dick performed well to get us all to the US Open in New York. Shelly flew in from BYU after just one week of her freshman year to meet us there. She and Dick had won the Father/Daughter Regional Championship tournament and the chance to compete nationally at the U.S. Open and enjoy a fully paid trip to New York! Everyone got to go, even though Julie and Rebecca had to sleep on the floor! Wonderful sights and sounds of our week in New York will always be with us.
Remember the "Three Card Monty" in front of the McDonald's Restaurant? How about going to the top of the hotel and watching other 'poor' visitors get stuck with the same game? And the man in McDonald's that look just like DAD! That was spooky!

Watching Boris Becker from the grandstands, note who is in the back ground.....Dad's incredible shot of the family behind Becker!

This picture was taken atop of one of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center! WOW!

Central Park! There were bums sleeping all along the sidewalk on park benches. We had never seen bums before!!

The U.S. Open in Flushing Meadows, New York.
